Munhall CARES' mission is to provide volunteer support to enrich our community through service and events. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive community where everyone can grow and thrive through community, activities, recreation, environment, and service. At Munhall CARES, we believe in the power of social interaction and helping our fellow citizens. We strive to create a vibrant community by hosting a variety of community events and activities. We also support our local parks, playgrounds, and sports/recreation organizations to encourage healthy lifestyles. Additionally, we care about the environment and regularly organize community cleanup and beautification projects. We aim to bridge connections to community services and resources to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need. Join us in our mission to create a better community for all!

As a lifelong resident of the Steel Valley area, Katie has seen the transformation the community has gone through and how one thing has always stood strong: When things get tough, we forge together and rise above. This drove her to stay rooted and raise her family in Steel Valley, where she also started and co-owns an outpatient private practice, Steel Valley Wellness Group.
Katie’s passion to serve her community was cultivated from early on, and as a founding board member of Munhall CARES, she is devoted to bringing resources, outreach and events to bridge all 3 boroughs together. She is also President of the One Valley Free Store and the Steel Valley Holiday Parade.
When not volunteering, you can find Katie playing outside and attending all 5 of her kids activities, running for exercise reluctantly, listening to 90s R&B and Hip Hop and breaking the stigma on mental health awareness and outreach.
